Regardless of how far reaching the internet is, I still find myself in a little bit of awe of this forum containing folks from far, far away, all wrapped up in the same day to day as we are, here.
And in an observation that doesn't have anything to do with anything, on my commute home this evening, a youngster who was all of about 18 rolled past me on his fixed wheel bicycle without so much as a hello, and then proceeded to slow down as soon as he was in front of me. Curious, I sat up and dawdled along behind him, watching him mess with his hair a few times, then make an abrupt and erratic right hand turn giving no indication as to what he was doing. No hello, no signal, no nothing.
I then began to reflect on the fact that I started riding tarck bikes when he was about six years old, and that is when I came home and began leafing through my catalog of walkers and wheelchairs.
Still though, it's alright to extend a greeting to a fellow cyclist, no matter how old they are.
Finally, Danny B. just sent me this, and if you don't think this is awesome, then you and I maybe just aren't cut out to be friends. Dont Even Reply(dot)com.
