So our cracks in LA may not be much. But who would have thought that riding in LA would get you shot!
Last night on the Midnight Ridazz ride through LA a guy was shot through his camelback in the back, another dude had his bike stolen, and a girl had her bike stolen. They are unsure why a group of people (there's speculation that it was a gang) started throwing things like vases at the group of riders. The rider, Jayro, who was shot was taken to the hospital and not much else has been said. The ride went through Highland Park somewhere around Figueroa. Here's what's been being said on the Midnight Ridazz's forum: "our ridazz and the gangstas were yelling at each other, glass bottles were being thrown, some gangsta beyotch threw a vase, gangstas were arming themselves with whatever they could get their hands on (i.e. - shovel, more beer bottles, etc)... in the mix with all the yelling, throwing and people defending themselves, Dingo's bike was stolen and then Rod was shot in the back with a .22mm gun. A ton of ridazz called the cops. The gangstas ran back inside the house and turned off the lights (hoping everyone would just go away.) Cops finally showed up...then they questioned all of us (or at least those who stayed). a huge majority of ridazz weren't even there anymore - either because they had kept on riding and didn't know that it was going on or they boned out after they heard the gun shot...the cops had set a perimeter around the house. they had a couple of our ridazz who would be able to identify the shooter...as of early this morning, a funanu said he thinks the shooter was arrested."
Ride safe, even in a huge group and we really hope that Jayro gets better quickly and is back on his bike in no time!
